Back home again....

As the journey home comes to a end, I reflect on the work that was done at PSG this year. I attended the Sacred Fire and danced throughout the night while the Fires of Transformation, Creation, and Illumination worked magick. The Sacred Hunt was intense but gratifying as the work was done for sake of the Village as well as the Hunters. In these rituals, I found my voice to speak both at the morning meeting and to Ruth Barrett on the morning after addressing my Tribe. As I found my way home today, the transformation continues. I read the words of elders in our Pagan community, both in support of the work Ruth and I did as well as criticisms of our reaching out to each other. And I realize that there is much more work to do to educate our community on the issue of inclusiveness of all, both in our own Traditions and as a community.

The issue at PSG was not one penetration into the Women's ritual held on Wednesday night. The issue was and remains a civil rights issue. In our diversity, we need to realize that when one of the Traditions is banned or blocked, we all suffer. And the reality is that this can later happen to our own Tradition. What was sought was the inclusion of all self-identified genders in main rituals at PSG, and ultimately in festival gatherings around the United States. This is important work. Also equally important is the role of rituals and mysteries to each person based on shared experiences that are held in common. It is in this position that I see a place for Women's Mysteries as well as the other rites. We can heal and then come together stronger to do the work must be done. Together! We share many experiences in common but we come to womanhood (and manhood for our trans men) in different ways. This is the truth of the matter, however we can still find common ground to sing, dance, and celebrate while supporting each other's diversity. May the work started continue to grow and blossom. So mote it be!
